Serving as VP of IT for MedPenny, a next-generation healthcare fintech platform enabling round-up savings, peer-to-peer transfers, KYC/AML compliance, and a dedicated MedPenny Card (Visa/Mastercard rails) for healthcare-focused spending. Assist with technical strategy, AWS cloud architecture, and security compliance posture, including IAM Identity Center provisioning, multi-account management, and IT/data security due diligence for sponsor bank relationships. Lead coordination with development partners (SEI-CMMI Level 5) across the full product scope: end-user web and mobile app, admin panel, ACH payment processing, KYC/identity verification integrations, digital wallet support (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay), and regulatory reporting.

January 2020 – May 2023

Translated end-user and vendor requirements to maintain and improve existing websites and applications. Designed and developed new web-based applications. Administered Linux web application infrastructure supporting internal and external sites and staging environments. Leveraged version control to ensure all web application code was reviewable and properly backed up.

Created, updated, and maintained the credit union's internal and external websites to provide accurate and timely information on products, services, rates, and promotions, ensuring high performance and a strong online member experience.

July 2001 – April 2026

For nearly 25 years, offered affordable web hosting, domain registration, email services, custom website development, and search engine optimization under the Digital PCI brand. Served local businesses through word-of-mouth referrals and organic search traffic to digitalpci.com. The sole proprietorship was officially retired in April 2026.

June 2006 – October 2013

Developed, maintained, and updated company websites using HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript. Coordinated with management on new features and site updates while managing the in-house LAMP stack. Projects included job posting and employment listing websites, a public health initiative delivering cancer information in plain English distributed on CD-ROM, a nursing home quality rating tool that ranked nearby care facilities to help families make informed decisions, and MyCityForRent, a regional apartment rental network connecting landlords and prospective tenants across multiple cities.

January 2002 – October 2004

Transitioned to IDES following the dissolution of the IOICC, continuing web development and IT support work in a similar capacity. Assisted the Job Training Division staff and clients, and supervised development and support of the web-based Illinois Resource Information System (IRIS), including troubleshooting, coding, and testing on IIS web servers running Windows NT 4. Supported the Springfield office with computer issues, inquiries, and application training. Contributed to the migration of the state agency website to new Governor-mandated agency templates built in classic ASP, which served as my first hands-on introduction to server-side includes in a production environment.

October 2000 – December 2001

Supported the IT department of the IOICC, a state agency responsible for managing labor market and career information for Illinois residents. Assisted with the maintenance of state websites offering occupational data, career planning resources, and related programs. Developed and maintained the agency intranet using Macromedia Dreamweaver and classic ASP (.asp), including server-side includes for shared page components. The IOICC was dissolved on December 31, 2001, with all career-planning and occupational data responsibilities transferred to the Illinois Department of Employment Security.

June 1999 – October 2000

Answered incoming calls and support emails, assisted customers with internet connectivity issues, and occasionally serviced customer computers brought in for repair.
